Breaking news: Car crashes into flats
A car has driven into a block of flats in Desborough Close, Shepperton, this evening (September 25).
The crash occurred between 6.30pm and 7pm and fire crews from Chertsey and Shepperton were called to the scene close to the junction of Chertsey Road and Ferry Lane, and extracted the driver from the wreckage.
Structural engineers are to inspect the building, Tameisa House, this evening.
Firefighters told the Herald that the driver was trapped in the vehicle following the crash, and had to be "extracted". They said an ambulance was called to take the person to hospital.
It is not known at this time how badly the driver was hurt, or whether there were any other casualties.
