They may have lost their jobs, but kind-hearted staff from the Staines branch of Woolworths took time out on Wednesday January 14 to present Manor Mead School in Shepperton with money they raised last year.
Through a series of events, like raffles, no uniform days and the running of a half marathon, the staff raised nearly £1,500, money head teacher Fiona Neal hopes to put towards buying a new minibus, which she says is essential for the Laleham Road school.
Mrs Neal said: "We're extremely grateful to them, especially in light of the fact they raised all this money and have now lost their jobs. The money is vital for the school - our current minibus is on its last legs and we need one to take the children swimming, horse riding and to visit other schools."
