Vile trials

Students got their own back on their Thamesmead School, Shepperton, teachers this week by cooking up unusual food combinations for them to munch in the school's very own 'Bushtucker' trials.

The school's BTEC acting students were set the challenge of raising some funds to support the final production of their BTEC acting course in the Summer Term, which would help with the provision of costumes and set.

So they decided to take some inspiration from the hit TV reality show I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and create some gruesome food combinations, coming up with such delights as cold vegetable soup with Tabasco sauce, chocolate covered garlic cloves, lemon marinated in Tabasco, jelly with kidney beans and ice cream with peas and fish sauce.

Teacher Claire Marris said: "The event was a great success and was thoroughly entertaining for all the spectators who watched the menu being tackled and we raised £120."

We'd like to hear from you.
