Rainbows, brownies and guides from the village are holding a Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, November 29 at Shepperton Village Hall, High Street, from 10am-12noon.

Attractions include childrens' games, homemade cakes, gifts, a toy tombola, raffle and a visit from Santa. Entrance is 30p.

St Nicholas Church is holding its winter fair on Saturday November 22 at Shepperton Village Hall in the High Street, between 10am-12.30pm.
Coffee, mince pies, face painting, and gifts for sale will be among the attractions.

Cops seize drugs in river haul

River police joined forces with the Environment Agency and made a string of arrests in a crime clampdown on the Thames.

Operation Inveigle focused on the stretch of river between Shepperton and Teddington Locks and officers spent four days making arrests, including one for possession of Class A drugs and two for possession of stolen goods. They also made three seizures of herbal cannabis and reported five vessels for unlicenced activity.

Forget Jimmy Savile and instead call on Shepperton carer Samantha Bradley to fix it and make your kids' dreams come true.

Samantha, from Gaston Way, is in the final throes or organising a charity ball for little Maxwell Lovell, a two-year-old who has just had a tumour discovered on his spinal chord.

The Rotary Club of Shepperton Aurora has helped fund a vital centre for the handicapped in Southern India.

Founder member John Dumbrell first visited the Khammam Artificial Limb Centre in 2005 and was astonished to learn one in 10,000 people in rural India suffers the loss of a limb each year, through snakebites or agricultural accidents.

Malcolm Atkin and partner Debi Doss heard an "almighty crash" outside their Walton Bridge Road home at 7.20am on Sunday, as the car careered out of control and demolished much of their 25ft-long wall.

The crash occurred between 6.30pm and 7pm and fire crews from Chertsey and Shepperton were called to the scene close to the junction of Chertsey Road and Ferry Lane, and extracted the driver from the wreckage.

Thamesmead School's well-equipped resource centre, which houses IT and library facilities has been in need of redecorating to give it a new lease of life.

exercise.jpgA new 'outdoor gym' targeted at the older generation was unveiled on Tuesday 9 September by Spelthorne Borough Councillors Denise Grant and Vivienne Leighton.

The gym, situated at Shepperton Recreation Ground is equipped with machines designed to provide gentle exercise for different parts of the body such as the hips, legs and upper body.
